SIZING GUIDE (BRACELET LENGTH)

UPDATE 02:

1) We are finding that using a high quality masking tape can give good results in terms of measuring one's own wrist. A high quality masking tape should not stretch length wise.

2) You can gently tape a section of masking tape around your wrist proper, and then draw one line across both ends where the masking tape overlaps. You can then lay this masking tape flat on a table and measure carefully between the two lines.

3) PLEASE NOTE: Please make sure you do not apply any tension to the masking tape, but also make sure there is no slack. Try to apply the masking tape as evenly as possible for accurate results. (If you have substantial wrist hair, do your best to measure against your skin by tamping down the hair as much as possible.)

4) Once you are confident you have an accurate measurement, you can give us this number, and the watch you will be using the bracelet on, and we can give you an accurate size recommendation.

UPDATE 01:

1) PLEASE NOTE: For Grand Seiko watches with the modern 44 GS case, you will lose 1 to 2 holes of adjustability. In other words, STANDARD SIZE = 6.4/6.5" to 7.2/7.3".

2) PLEASE NOTE: For most JLC Reversos (excluding larger models such as the Grande Reverso 976) you will lose 2 to 3 holes of adjustability. In other words, STANDARD SIZE = 6.3/6.4" to 7.0/7.1".

3) Basically, watches smaller than the 41 mm 2254.50 SMP will make our bracelets wear shorter usually by approximately 1 to 3 holes of adjustment, which equates to 0.1/0.3" or 2.5/7.5 mm. In certain circumstances, such as with the smaller size Reversos, you may lose approximately 2 to 3 holes of adjustment.

If you have any questions at all about sizing, please contact us here prior to finalizing your order. We are happy to help you find the perfect AMB-001 bracelet for you and your watch. Thank you.

SIZING GUIDE (BRACELET LENGTH)

LET'S MAKE IT SIMPLE ...

IF YOUR WRIST SIZE IS:

- 6.1" to 6.9" - (15.5 - 17.5 cm) = MID-SIZE

- 6.6" to 7.4" - (16.75 - 18.8 cm) = STANDARD

- 7.1" to 7.9" - (18 - 20.1 cm) = LONG

- 7.6" to 8.4" - (19.3 - 21.3 cm) = EXTRA-LONG

PLEASE NOTE: If you are at either extreme end of a particular size's suggested range, choose the next size up or down, accordingly. For example, if your wrist is 7.3" or 7.4" (18.5 or 18.8 cm), choose the next size up, LONG, because you will have no additional room to size up to accommodate any wrist swelling, with the STANDARD. Likewise, if your wrist is 6.6" (16.75 cm) choose the MID-SIZE, as you will not be able to size down further with the STANDARD.

PLEASE NOTE: Our bracelets are designed so each wearer will have 1 - 2 holes for adjustment. (The full range of adjustment is provided so each bracelet size can accommodate a range of wrist sizes.) Out of over a thousand customers thus far, we have found that not a single person has needed more than 2 holes to adjust up, in real world application.

WHERE TO MEASURE YOUR WRIST:

1. PLEASE NOTE: Please take the time and effort to measure your wrist carefully. We have found that people tend to either overestimate or underestimate their wrist size. Please take the extra time and effort to be precise with your measurements, as we are very confident about our sizing guide.

We have found that measuring one's wrist with one hand will give you uneven results. If possible, please have a second person help you to measure your wrist carefully in the following way:

Please measure your wrist without pulling or placing any tension on the tape measure. (Old tape measures, we have found, will almost always be 1/4" or more off due to stretching! We were surprised to learn this but it is true.)

We have found that pulling even slightly on the tape measure will compress the flesh of the wrist a small but critical amount. A little bit of compression may seem insignificant IRL, but in terms of fitment for our AMB-001 bracelet, which comes down to a matter of millimeters, 1/4" can be a determining factor for choosing the correct size. For example, a 7.0" wrist and a 7.25" wrist will potentially need different size bracelets.

AMB does not take responsibility for orders placed based on poor measurements on the customer's end. If you have any questions please contact us prior to finalizing your order. If you can write "WRIST SIZE HELP" in the title, we can better address your concerns.

2. PLEASE NOTE: Any bracelet that has been test fit, or otherwise shows signs of sizing or use, cannot be returned for a refund. If you have any final questions regarding sizing please contact AMB before placing order. Thank you.

WATCH CASE SIZE & HOW IT AFFECTS SIZING:

3. The above wrist sizes/fitments were calculated using a very "standard" lug-hole to lug-hole measurement of 43.0 mm, which can be found on well-known watches such as the neo-vintage Omega Seamaster Professional 300 m (41 mm SMP).

3a. PLEASE NOTE: If your watch is LARGER between the centers of the lug holes compared to the above mentioned SMP 2254.50, the bracelet will wear slightly larger.

3b. PLEASE NOTE: If your watch is SMALLER between the centers of the lug holes compared to the above mentioned SMP 2254.50, the bracelet will wear slightly smaller.

4. We measure from center-of-lug-hole to center-of-lug-hole for our sizing purposes.

5. PLEASE NOTE: The often used exterior LTL (lug-to-lug) measurement seen on watch enthusiast forums does not apply here, because it is not used to calculate bracelet fitment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

6. Personal preferences for how tight or how loose one chooses to wear their watches will also affect final fitment.

7. PLEASE NOTE: All of our measurements were made with a snug, but not restrictive bracelet fitment, aka a "Watchmaker's Fit" on a bracelet worn on the actual wrist (not the "wrist bone," or Ulnar Styloid). You should only be able to insert a single finger tip underneath your bracelet with a watchmaker's fit.

8. If you prefer a looser fit, you will have to factor in an additional 1/4" up to 1/2" (6-12 mm). Please note, we cannot determine how much extra room you want. If you like to wear it loose, please measure your wrist accurately, as described here in this Sizing Guide, and then add 1/4" (or slightly more).

FOR REFERENCE ONLY:

MID-SIZE:  121 mm - 141 mm (max)

STANDRAD:  134 mm - 154 mm (max)

LONG: 147 mm - 167 mm (max)

EXTRA-LONG: 160 mm - 180 mm (max)

(Lengths apply to all lug width sizes, i.e. 19 mm, 20 mm, 21 mm etc.)

PLEASE NOTE: The above dimensions are for reference only. It can sometimes be helpful to compare an existing bracelet (e.g. your watch's OEM bracelet), sized to fit your wrist, with the above dimensions, as a way to "check your math."

PLEASE NOTE: In order to get a usable measurement of your sized OEM bracelet, lay the bracelet flat and reinsert the spring bars. Then measure the distance between the spring bar tips. Give us this measurement, and we will insert it into our proven formula and give you a final sizing recommendation.

***** If you have made it this far, it means you are as serious as we are about the proper fitment of your watch bracelet. Don't worry, it feels like a lot to take in, but we are here to help you find the perfect size AMB-001 bracelet for you and your watch! Thanks for your consideration.
