What specific refinements are responsible for how ultra-comfortable the AMB-001 is to wear?
Answer:
The MOST IMPORTANT refinement we made, in terms of creating our ultra-comfortable wearing experience, are the two milled-in tabs at 6 o'clock on the AMB-001's clasp. Those two little seemingly insignificant "tabs" on the underside of the 6 o'clock side of the clasp, believe it or not, are 100% responsible for how comfortable our AMB-001 bracelet wears.
Without those two tabs the clasp itself would pull away from, and "pop up" from the mesh, resulting in a terrible-looking interface. More importantly, the mesh would rise up to meet your wrist at a premature and forced angle.
What we developed, through a lot of prototyping and proper R&D, are the two specially shaped tabs seen here in this photo:
As you can see, our tabs are perfectly shaped, and also the perfect distance from the mesh, to both hold the clasp and mesh together, yet also allow the mesh itself to "flex" just the right amount as it leaves the clasp, forcing it to extend slightly before curving up to meet the natural shape of your wrist:

The importance of this small detail cannot be overstated. If we had created two perfectly square, hard-edged tabs at the 6 o'clock location of the clasp, instead of separating from the clasp awkwardly, the mesh would have been rigidly bound to that part of the clasp. The result would have been a centimeter-long or longer section of mesh that stuck out rigidly as it left the clasp, before finally curving up to meet your wrist.
This would have created an unyielding and stiff, unnatural oval-ish shape that your wrist would have been forced to adapt to. This flaw is what causes great discomfort in some Milanese mesh bracelet designs. With our AMB-001 bracelet, the mesh is well-managed so that it is forced to adapt to your specific wrist shape, and not the other way around.
We understand it is hard to visualize what we mean, but those who have experienced wearing our bracelets, for even just a few minutes, will attest to how much of a difference those two little tabs make to the overall wearing comfort. It's actually very fun to look down from time to time and to think how such a small detail can "complete a design."
